After the wind: keep rain out, then write the real scope.
The first day is dry-in – tarps, board-up, water extraction. The second conversation is what the storm actually did to the roof, the interior, and the mechanicals. Mixing those two is how change orders explode.
Temporary dry-in
Openings in the roof or windows get covered so the next rain does not add a second loss. That work is documented with photos. It is not the rebuild.
Then a written interior scope
Wind-driven rain travels. We check rooms that look dry, because water behind baseboards does not announce itself on day one.
